the crossroad of experiences
the path we choose within each experience unfolds into who we become
Author’s Note: if you can listen to this one, do it. I think there’s something special about these words when spoken.
How did I end up right here, as the person I am? Do you ever ask yourself this question, when you’re waking up to face a new day or falling asleep at night? Or maybe even in the middle of the night when you wake?
I do. I think about it sometimes, not a lot, but once in a while I like to intentionally look back and see how the choices I made brought me to where I am. I’ve noticed that I haven’t always realized what I was choosing, even within the intentional decisions I have made. In my experience, a decision often unfolds into lived experience before I realize the full impact of the choosing. And beyond that, it’s often been a series of choices, combined with circumstances and a big splash of the unknown that eventually leads to where I go.
I also think that folded within each thing we experience, is a crossroad.
A place where we choose one path over another–and the path chosen unfolds in some way into the person we become. Can you see all (or some) of the paths leading to where you are right now as a result of the decisions you have made about who you will be (right now in this moment and the next)—and how you have and will move as a result of those life experiences?
